Feature Rich Integrated Receiver Decoder
The CatonCaster is the professional integrated receiver/decoders for distribution and monitoring applications. Perfect for applications such as monitoring, digital-turnaround, digital signage, hospitality and enterprise video delivery. The product supports decoding of SD or HD or 4K video, encoded as HEVC, H.264 or MPEG2, as well as up to four pairs audio services.
The flagship CatonCaster continues Caton's long history of leadership in the receiver/decoder space. The product boasts a full complement of cutting- edge features, including 4:2:2 HEVC 8bit/10bit decoding, up to 8 individual audio PIDs, 16/32APSK satellite demodulation, and 1080p60 video support with 3G-SDI output. Decoding and output formats are upgradable in the field via software license, so the receiver can grow as needs evolve. This feature set makes the CatonCaster the ideal choice for contribution reception or demanding distribution applications which require a future-proof set of specifications.
CatonCaster ships with a full complement of basic inputs and outputs built-in, including dual ASI input/ outputs and dual SD/HD/3G-SDI outputs. The digital video output means that video monitoring is as easy as finding the nearest consumer television or PC monitor, and available factory-configurable MPEG over IP I/O, DVB-S2, 8VSB/QAM-B, DVB-T/ T2/C/C2/ISDB-T modules adapt the product to any use case.
The CatonCaster maintains our long tradition of ease of use, with a straight-forward user interface and web APIs and backed by Caton’s support engineers.

Powerful Internet Transmission CatonEngine R2TP module will be available in Fall 2020.
Caton Engine’s R2TP is an IP-based transport protocol designed specifically to solve QoS/QoE problems for live data transmission over the Internet. Applying highly advanced network congestion control techniques, R2TP maximizes Bandwidth Utilization Ratio (BUR) for high-quality content over nearly any given bandwidth.
R2TP applies highly efficient error correction mechanisms by combining a variant Automatic Repeat Request [ARQ] retransmit method and Caton’s Adaptive Network Code (ANC) engine to ensure highly reliable transmissions with lower latency.

CatonCaster supports multi formats such as SD, HD and 4K. From legacy workflow to latest professional high resolution workflow, CatonCaster will support you all the way.
Industry Standard Codec
CatonCaster supports industry standard Codec up to HEVC to provide the highest quality decoding for distribution, with the most efficiency bitrate.
High Quality Video
CatonCaster supports high quality sample rate up to 4:2:2 for the best performance in broadcast level, ideal for sports, concerts and high quality contents.
High Quality Audio
CatonCaster supports decode AAC audio and up to 8 channels of audio, perfect fit for multi-audio video source and even 5.1 PCM discrete audio output.
Ancillary Data
CatonCaster supports Ancillary Data in the context of television systems which by non-video information such as teletext and closed captions can be embedded within the SDI output.
SNMP and Audo Switching
CatonCaster supports Web basis monitoring and management, active event logging and alert system. Auto switch between preset inputs when TS Sync Loss. SNMP support for Caton Network Management Systems and 3rd parties platform for remote controls and triggers.
